Artist Bio Lucille Roser
Lucille is a multi-media artist who enjoys travel and teaching. It enables her to search out interesting and exciting subjects to paint. She is currently involved in experimental works using acrylics, water color, oils, pen and ink, pastels, gold leaf and collage with hand made papers.
She studied for many years at Portland Art Museum at their Art School in Oregon, as well as at Mt Hood. She has studied under many fine teachers that helped her develop and refine her skills, such as Maxine Masterfield of California. She went to Greece and studied under Frank Webb of Pennsylvania. When she moved to Arizona in 1984, her art classes continued at Mohave Community College and she went to many workshops in the southwest where she honed in on the Indian culture surrounding her. Her favorite subjects are the Indians of the southwest and the desert landscapes on the reservations. She spent time on the Navajo nation near Gallup, New Mexico soaking in the ambience and taking photos. She also loves the Taos pueblos especially in the winter. She paints Canyon DeChelly, Montezumas’ Castle, Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon too. She is a very versatile artist whose work appeals to a variety of tastes. She has sold paintings throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as to private homes in Europe. She continues expanding her horizons here in Lake Havasu where she was President of the Havasu Art Guild for several years.
